Donald Rumsfeld Heroically Cancels Newspaper Subscription in Face of 9/11 Tragedy
It was awful. What happened that sad New York City morning on September 11th will not be forgotten anytime soon. How anyone could allowed it to happen boggles the mind. And yet it did happen, and this nation will have to deal with that for a long time.Obviously, I'm talking about Paul Krugman totally insufficiently-bathetic editorial that The New York Times published in yesterday's paper…
"What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. The atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons."
Turn away! Turn away; don't look at it. It's too awful. Plug up your ears with your fingers and hum a Lee Greenwood psalm lest you be forced to ask yourself unpleasant questions that might put you off your burger and freedom fries.
Luckily, we still have great men like former People Magazine Sexiest Cabinet Member honoree Donald Rumsfeld around to serve as examples of how true patriot responds when faced with genuine anti-American adversity…
Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Monday canceled his subscription to The New York Times after columnist Paul Krugman characterized the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks as "an occasion for shame."
Rumsfeld tweeted, "After reading Krugman’s repugnant piece on 9/11, I canceled my subscription to the New York Times this AM."
A true hero. We shall not see his like again.

The Bush Administration Officials Are the Winklevoss Twins of Getting Osama bin Laden
Wow! The Bush administration people have really shown themselves willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in their quest to get the credit for getting bin Laden.
Makes you wonder what they could have achieved if they had tried to get bin Laden…

Donald Rumsfeld Does Not Deny Being a Lizard from Outerspace
Louis C.K. — while a guest on The Opie and Anthony Show — was given a rare chance to show his true patriotism when former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld called it to promote his new book, I, Rumsfeld (or something).
What is "true patriotism," you ask? I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I'm relatively certain it involves having the balls to ask Donald Rumsfeld "if he and Dick Cheney are lizards from outerspace who eat human flesh, for example: Mexican babies" about three dozen times in the span of 15 minutes…
Excellent interview. We need more people asking the tough questions about lizard people and Mexican babies like that. Unfortunately, you're not likely to see that on MSNBC or CNN anytime soon. (Well, maybe CNN, if this video ends up getting enough hits.)
Sadly — though his efforts were noble — Louis C.K.'s questions remain woefully unanswered…
"Mister Rumsfeld was courteous, but he gave me no reason to doubt that he is a lizard."
I guess it's still a coin toss, huh?

Jon Stewart's Extended and Uncensored Interview with Donald Rumsfeld
On last night's Daily Show, Jon sat down with former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. As you can imagine, they had a lot to talk about, so the interview went long, but you can now see the entire thing right here. And while this is indeed uncensored, I'm afraid the rumors that Rumsfeld went full-frontal are patently false. He keeps his merkin on the entire time.
Parts two and three are below.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11/10c.

Ben Quayle Is Coming for You, Congress
The big news in Arizona politics is that John McCain — who has been busy these past couple years doing his best impersonation of a douchebag — yesterday managed to beat natural born douchebag JD Hayworth in the state's GOP senatorial primary. And it only cost him $20 million to do so. That's quite a bargain. However, the lesser and more interesting news is that Dan Quayle's 33-year-old son Ben is one step closer to making his congressional bones representing the state's 3rd district, having won 23 percent of the vote in the 10-way primary race. You remember Ben Quayle, don't you? He's this guy…
It's a shame that both he and his soon-to-be-colleague Michele Bachmann are married, huh? They could have made such beautifully ridiculous babies.
So, what's it take to win a 10-way primary race? Well, besides having half of a former vice president's DNA? Who knows? Does it even matter?
Along with name recognition, Quayle had the advantage of money, relying on the help of his father's connections to raise $1.3 million for his campaign. Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld contributed to his campaign, the Associated Press reported, and former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara hosted a fundraiser for him.
Just your average everyday small business guy, pulling himself up by his own diamond-encrusted bootstraps.
