If you have never seen Glenn Beck in action, he's done you the favor of creating a segment that captures his je ne sais crazy so perfectly that you need never watch another episode again.
There are tears. An imaginary Lady Liberty. And: mouth to mouth with an American flag.

Hearing of Marco Rubio's Olympic Tax Elimination Act, Gabby Douglas responded with a gold medal performance in the all-around gymnastics competition. A brilliant floor routine may have been the reason why "The Flying Squirrel" was able to finish atop the podium, but who knows how she would have done were it not for Senator Rubio's proposed tax incentivization of our gold medal creators. She should show some gratitude to her country!
In a segment on Fox News' "America Live," guest host Alisyn Camerota and guest commentator, satellite radio host David Webb, agreed: Gabby Douglas's pink — nearly commie red — leotard did not do justice to the U.S. of A…
"…some folks have noticed that American athletes' uniforms don't carry the Stars and Stripes look as much as they had in past years. The famous flag-style outfits worn in years past replaced with yellow shirts, gray tracksuits, pink leotards. So how do we show our patriotism at the games?"
How do we show our patriotism at events in which gold medal-winning athletes listen to "The Star-Spangled Banner" as an American flag is hoisted up above their American flag-embroidered uniforms? Webb thought the problem is more general, extending even to our sacred ballparks…
"We've also lost over time that jingoistic feeling. You know, the National Anthem, we sing it at baseball games. I think the National Anthem should be followed with, 'Play ball.' It's kind of an American thing. We've lost a little of that, you know, saying The Pledge of Allegiance. And I think that plays over into some of this soft acceptance. You know what? Red, white and blue — wear it. Wave it. Be proud to be an American. It's not a political issue. But they make it a social issue."
At least another ginned up uniform controversy is a step up from asking for her birth certificate.

Libertarian activist Theresa "Darklady" Reed drew ire recently after unwittingly stumbling upon the number one misstep that a politically-minded woman can make in America. (Well, the number two misstep, maybe. Number one is not looking like a model in a Sears catalogue.)
When it came time to drap herself in the U.S. flag, she did it literally instead of figuratively…
The photo, originally taken for a calendar of female libertarian politicians but never used, employs a 52-foot-long nylon American flag that Reed took from the Oregon Libertarian Party headquarters…
Reed says she has received some messages of support for the image, which appears on a number of social networks. But veterans have also expressed anger, telling her she is dishonoring a flag that people have fought and died for.
A woman wrapping her unclothed somewhat-overweight body in an American flag?! Gah! According to the unenforceable U.S.Flag Code, the U.S. flag "should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery," so that is a clear violation, and as such this woman deserves every bit of disdain she receives from patriotic Americans.
That said, I don't even want to think about the vitriol that is hurled at these women here. Their lives must be a living hell of constant bombardment with righteous anger and indignity. It makes me cry just thinking of what these poor women must go through on a daily basis at the hands of testosterone-filled America-lovers.
And let's not even think of how much this woman is hated by veterans for her blatant disrespect of Old Glory.

Do you know how much Mitt Romney loves America? A lot. Like, a lot a lot. He loves America so much he even had special "We Stand United" flag pins made for the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
And just like every other America-loving businessman, he had them made in China…
At a fundraiser in Virginia last night, Mitt Romney touted his experinece running the Salt Lake City Olympic Games in 2002… He told a story about the "We Stand United" American flag pins he commissioned for the games…Romney touted his creation of the pins as a means to explain how he hopes to bring Americans together…
Complicating Romney's patriotic message is the fact that the pins were made in China, according to a website run by the Utah state government's culture department, as TPM's Evan McMorris-Santoro pointed out on Twitter.
Wow. Mitt Romney is now making so many gaffes, he's had to start outsourcing them to China.
It's pretty telling that his most profound expression of patriotism is a tiny, boring lapel pin. Romney better watch out for the Fourth of July. He might get too worked up and do something crazy, like wear an American flag tie.

Liberals often come under fire for their excessive praise of President Obama. Despite not living up to many of his campaign promises, Obama remains a god-like figure for the left.
A flag depicting an image of President Barack Obama was taken down from Lake County Democratic Party headquarters today after several veterans complained it was a "desecration."
A short confrontation at the Democratic office ended when party chairwoman Nancy Hurlbert took down the controversial flag, which had been flying under an American flag on the same flagpole.
"It's a cult of personality to show his face, like Stalin or Mao," said John Masterjohn, a former Marine and retired schoolteacher from Leesburg. "It's despicable. They don't realize how sick they are."
What's wrong with an Obama-faced flag? If the President can win a Nobel Peace Prize while waging two wars, he can pretty much do anything.
And he's almost finished a whole term. Why haven't we put his face on our money yet? The U.S. dollar is so worthless now, Republicans might not mind if we put Obama's head on it.
