Tom Tomorrow takes us back to the founding of the United States. The real founding of the United States, that is. Not that liberally-biased, fact-based crap they cram down our kids' mouths in school…

Sarah Palin, writing on the historic origins of the presidential oath in her new book…
"The very first thing Washington did as president was to offer a prayer to God to secure the liberties of the new nation… [he] put his hand on the Bible as he was sworn in. And he added the words so help me God' to the presidential oath."
Now, some people might be moved to denigrate this quote simply based upon the pedantic fact that it's more a matter of mythology than actual reality, but those people forget that the book is called America by Heart not America by Brain or America by Facts or something stupid and elitist like that.
Can your scientific history telling machines really look inside Sarah Palin's heart and prove that that's not how things happened inside there?

This, apparently, is the new thing to do with Tea Partiers, cause a ruckus at the theme park. I couldn't even make something like this if I wanted to.

This may seem a little crude and inchoate as far as historical models go, but it's as close as science can come to actually understanding what happened at the beginning of our country. We know that quarks and gluons forged a relationship to create protons and neutrons at about 10−6 seconds and after that the country started expanded exponentially*, but before that point, things are a little hazy.
* I often confuse American history and Big Bang cosmology. Sorry.
