Jared Logan Reports: Is Obama Screwed?

This week I took to the streets to find out what people think of President Obama's campaign strategy as we head into the summer. I interviewed people from all walks of life: people who are my relatives, people who are not my relatives. People who watch Community and people who have never seen Community. I even talked to one woman who was over 50 years old (enjoy the diversity, millenials).

The first person I interviewed was Greg Simmons. Greg is my cousin. He's white, 26 years old, and works at a grocery store.

ME: Greg, recently the Obama campaign has gone negative. They've run ads showing workers who were laid off from companies bought by Bain Capital, which Mitt Romney once ran. Obama's gone on the record saying that being president is nothing like being CEO of a company because your job is not to maximize profit, your job is to give everyone a fair shot. Is the president right?

GREG: I don't like Obama because he's for gays and I'm not down with all that gay stuff.

ME: Thank you for your time, Greg.

The second person I interviewed was my mother's neighbor, Haley Lackman. Haley is 39 and works in HR at a company that makes windows.

Nailed it! Aw man, nailed it so hard. And before anybody jumps on me, no, a point does not need a logical through-line for it to be awesome.

What it comes down to is this: If Hilary Rosen wasn't so busy being all lazy and lesbian and shit, maybe she would have found the time to be heterosexual and have five kids. Best point ever!

Hilary Rosen Apologizes to Ann Romney, Thus Disproving GOP War on Women

Well, all of you liberal activist progressives must feel pretty stupid right about now. You thought that recent Republican efforts — like to keep women from receiving birth control via their health care systems, and to shut down clinics offering medical care to impoverished women, and to hamper a woman's ability to fight for equal pay — were pointing toward an anti-women agenda within the conservative movement. Ha! How dumb you all look now.

Because Hilary Rosen — a liberal activist who we've all been aware of since last night — just apologized to Ann Romney for having said something really stupid. Therefore, Republicans love women.

Check and mate…

Rosen apologized this afternoon in a statement. "Let's declare peace in this phony war and go back to focus on the substance," she said.

There you go. What more proof do you need?
