Brownie: What's Obama's Rush with Responding to Sandy?
Michael "Brownie" Brown — who was immortalized as a symbol of heckuva job-ness following his work as the head of FEMA during Hurricane Katrina — knows a thing or two about responding to natural disasters. After all, he took calls from President Bush all the time. So, when he asks: What's the deal with Obama's rush to help people during Hurricane Sandy?, it makes you wonder: Hey, what's the deal with that?
"One thing he's gonna be asked is, why did he jump on this so quickly and go back to D.C. so quickly when in… Benghazi, he went to Las Vegas?" Brown says. "Why was this so quick?… At some point, somebody's going to ask that question… This is like the inverse of Benghazi."
Really, it's kind of ridiculous. I mean, these people haven't even had a chance to start building shanty towns on top of their roofs let alone make their way into the later stages of dehydration. Come on! There is a way that these things are done. This is bush league nonsense.
Er, I mean, it's not Bush league nonsense.

George Bush Sort of Accepts Kanye West's Sort of Apology
This morning, on The Today Show, a great American hero stared down his greatest nightmare — somebody whom he has never met saying something mean about him — and emerged victorious…
No human being should ever have to endure such hurtful opinions coming from a borderline insane person — least of all a person whose whimsies had the potential to alter millions of peoples' lives — so, you've really got to respect Bush for allowing this incident to be considered water over the levees.

New Old News: The Blame Game
Good news, everybody! The "top kill" effort to plug the oil spill in the gulf appears to be working.
Finally, we can focus on what really matters in the wake of this disaster: deciding who the f**k is to blame.

Jon Stewart: Release the Kagan!
Is Elena Kagan President Obama's Harriet Miers? No, of course not. That's ridiculous. Kagan is obviously Obama's Ebenezer Hoar, who, as you know, was Ulysses Grant's Reuben Walworth. Duh.
After the jump, Stephen Colbert grasps at some anti-Kagan straws.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

NPR's Liasson Compares Cash for Clunkers to Katrina
The government estimated it would take four months to use up the Cash for Clunkers money, but it only took six days. All those polluting cars were taken off the road months earlier than anticipated, and the struggling auto-industry received a shot in the arm. Obviously, this is a huge disaster. NPR's Mara Liasson knows what I'm talking about:I thought that woman actually asked a pretty legitimate question — especially Cash for Clunkers is like a mini- Katrina here. I mean it’s not good to start a program and not be able to execute it.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. A wildly popular stimulus program that works better than expected is basically the same as government negligence leading to the deaths of nearly 2000 people and the permanent displacement of countless others? That is a pretty reckless comparison. Everyone knows Cash for Clunkers is more like 9/11 than Katrina.
More precisely, Cash for Clunkers is like if the Holocaust and slavery had a baby and the baby had lasers for eyes.
In Liasson's defense though, I tried to trade in my clunker yesterday and my family drowned.
