The Democratic Party Stumbles Upon a New Sarah Palin Joke
Hey, look at this. Looks like everybody in the Democratic Party came up with the same joke/talking point* at the same time. What a weird coincidence.Democratic strategist James Carville…
"The only person who has seen Romney's taxes is John McCain and he took one look and picked Sarah Palin."
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel…
"He has only released one year, to the McCain campaign he released 23 years. And he’s telling the people, 'I'm not going to give you what I gave John McCain’s people in 2008.' And when he gave them 23 years, John McCain's campaign looked at it and went, 'Let’s go with Sarah Palin.' So whatever’s in there is far worse than just the first year."
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley…
Pressed in an interview at the National Governors Association meeting here whether there would be anything in those returns that would disqualify Romney from the presidency, O'Malley said he doesn't know — and that's why Democrats want to see them. "But why would you pick somebody — why would you pick Palin over Romney?" he asked.
This shows a nice progression from pithy to snoozzzzzzzzzzy. Democrats should really leave the color commentary to guys like Carville who know how to set it spinning.
And they can leave the whatever-Martin-O'Malley-is-good-at to Martin O'Malley.
.
* I hope it's a joke, but it's a pretty clever witticism. It's pretty nonsensical as an actual talking point.

Quote Unquote: Decapitated
James Carville on Rick Santorum being swept by Mitt Romney last night…
.
"He was like a chicken with his head chopped off. The chicken is dead. The only person that don't know it is the chicken."
.
Of all the chopped-off appendage comments that one could make about Rick Santorum today, that one's probably the least mean-spirited.

SCOTUS Loss Will Be Great for Dems, James Carville Rationalizes
This is seriously some next-level spinning right here, I'm telling you…"I think this will be the best thing that has ever happened to the Democratic Party," Carville said Tuesday on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."
He added: "You know, what the Democrats are going to say, and it is completely justified, 'We tried, we did something, go see a 5-4 Supreme Court majority'."
What even is that? Like, quantum politics or something?
The fact that James Carville can go on television, say a thing like that with a straight face and then place his coffee mug down on the table with the confidence to believe that its atoms won't just slip through those of the table and spill scalding hot liquid onto his lap truly amazes me.

Quote Unquote: Advice, Cajun Style!
Democratic strategist James Carville offers his thoughts on the state of things in the Democratic Party…
"People often ask me what advice I would give the White House about various things. Today I was mulling over election results from New York and Nevada while thinking about that very question. What should the White House do now? One word came to mind: Panic."
Solid advice. Knowing Democrats, though, they probably won't even do that right. They'll most likely end up getting mildly trepidatious and then fall under a spell of consternation.
Typical Democrats.
