Jon Stewart Dedicates Entire Show to 9/11 First Responders Bill

Last night, on the final Daily Show of 2010, Jon Stewart made a sincere plea to the Senate by spending the entire show discussing the Zadroga health care bill for 9/11 first responders. First, he mocked the media for their lack of coverage of the bill, which is being filibustered by the same Senate Republicans who fought tooth and nail to pass an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Jon followed that with a panel of actual 9/11 first responders and an interview with Mike Huckabee, who urged all Republicans to vote for the bill. This is all pretty important stuff, so I'm just going to post the entire episode, including an extended and uncensored version of the Huckabee interview.

Sen. Kyl Loves So Loves God That He Won't Go to Work

Fight! Fight! Fight! Senator Jon Kyl — the Other Old White Republican Senator from Arizona™ — is super-pissed at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for saying the Senate oughta come back to work the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

But it's not because Senator Jon Kyl wants to ride horses or hunt the most dangerous game or whatever the hell Republicans do for wintertime funz in Arizona. No, it's because of his deep-seated respect for the architect of all creation. Or something…

"It is impossible to do all of the things that the majority leader laid out," Kyl said today, "frankly, without disrespecting the institution and without disrespecting one of the two holiest of holidays for Christians and the families of all of the Senate, not just the senators themselves but all of the staff."

Yeah man, that's when all the good sales are! WTF, Reid, you big jerk. Jon Kyl can't buy his Titleist golf balls at the 2-for-1 sale at Golf World in Flagstaff if your dumb ass makes him work, jeez.
