Liberty University announced today that their 2012 graduating class will have the pleasure of being commenced by an address via none other that Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Liberty University? Isn't that the Evangelical Christian school that Jerry Falwell founded so that young adults seeking an education need not be confronted with heretical scientific facts or liberal-approved information about U.S. history? Yes, but, there's more to Liberty University than crusty old conservative indoctrination, as evidenced by this surprisingly listenable LU Anthem from rapper Humble Tip…

You see, Liberty University and Mitt Romney were made for each other…

Michele Bachmann Tells Liberty University Students Not to Settle for Reality-Based Politicians

Actual crazy person Michele Bachmann, who believes that Jesus herded a flock of dinosaurs and that fetal suffrage is the great get-out-the-vote campaign of this century, is trying to revive her dying campaign of nonsense by appealing to her base: fellow crazy people who call themselves "Christian" even though Jesus was, like, actually way nicer than they are…

"Don’t settle. This mighty God we serve has a vision so big," Bachmann told the student body at Liberty’s weekly convocation. "This is an election, of all elections, when we have the opportunity to turn the nation around."

"The mighty God we serve," of course, being Marcus Bachmann, the Lady Macbeth to Michele's royal genius.

And that big vision God has? Well, only Michele and Marcus are privy to it. You can listen to it, of course, but you'll have to hear it from their mouths — over and over and over again, long after everyone dismisses her viability as a candidate.

Which, come to think of it, happened before she even announced her run.

Oppressed Christians Revoke Young Democrats Club from Liberty University

This story is so shocking, I don't even know where to begin.

Jerry Falwell's old homemade school for Christians — Liberty University — is in the news because its higher-ups have decided, in their infinite wisdom, that it would be a smart PR move to stir up a completely unnecessary shit storm and make the school's name even more ironic all in one brilliant maneuver…

Liberty's Young Democrats club — the first in school history — was formed during last fall's election season, and was given an award for Up-and-Coming Chapter of the Year by the Virginia Young Democrats in April. But earlier this month, Liberty vice-president Mark Hine wrote to club president Brian Diaz that the club's status was being dropped because it had supported candidates whose views were "contrary to the mission of LU and to Christian doctrine", even though the club itself was officially pro-life and anti-gay-marriage.

Following a maelstrom of criticism, Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. offered to reinstate the club, providing it aligns itself with a pro-life, anti-gay Democratic group, and not the Democratic party in general.

What do you think is the most shocking aspect of this story?
