Chris Rock on Newt Gingrich's second marriage…
"So, let me get this straight. Newt Gingrich's wife had a chance to have sex with other people and decided she only wanted to have sex with Newt?"
I imagine she was put off the idea all together.

Last night's debate in South Carolina featured MC Mitt Romney, straight out of Bloomfield Hills, rapping of his upbringing in the "real streets of America," defending his record as someone who once, allegedly, did something helpful for the uninsured citizens of Massachusetts, and equivocating on the release of his tax returns because his father was born in Mexico, or something.
But the consensus view is that the night belonged to adult baby Newt Gingrich, who told CNN's Jon King that his personal history of serial adultery and divorce shall not be judged, lest Gingrich judge ye…
Gingrich: Every person in here knows personal pain. Every person in here has had someone close to them go through painful things. To take an ex-wife and make it two days before the primary a significant question for a presidential campaign is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine…
I am tired of the elite media protecting Barack Obama by attacking Republicans.
Of course, the accusation that Gingrich wanted an "open marriage" isn't up for debate. He had an open marriage, since he carried on an affair with a congressional staffer while still married to his 2nd wife, Marianne (who was a congressional staffer with whom he carried on an affair while with his first wife).
Frankly, the only debate is whether he asked her for an open marriage and whether such questions are worthy of public discussion. Late 1990s Gingrich had a strong opinion on the matter when he "once again pledged to say during every public appearance that Americans have the right to know the truth about the Lewinsky matter and that the president is not above the law" and orchestrated an ad campaign titled "What did you tell your kids?"
Why is the elite media fundamentally using the old Newt Gingrich standard of political hardball to discredit Newt Gingrich?

Conservatives can tolerate divorce, cheating and hypocrisy. We're about to find out if they draw the line at swinging. Newt Gingrich's ex-wife Marianne Gingrich will appear on Nightline tonight with claims that Newt asked her for an open marriage…
In her most provocative comments, the ex-Mrs. Gingrich said Newt sought an "open marriage" arrangement so he could have a mistress and a wife.
She said when Gingrich admitted to a six-year affair with a Congressional aide, he asked her if she would share him with the other woman, Callista, who is now married to Gingrich.
"And I just stared at him and he said, 'Callista doesn't care what I do,'" Marianne Gingrich told ABC News. "He wanted an open marriage, and I refused."
This is all in the past. After all, Newt Gingrich signed The Family Leader pledge. And that's a much stronger commitment than a wedding vow.
Once again, thank you, universe, for making us think about the sex life of a person we didn't remotely want to picture naked. I guess Herman Cain wasn't punishment enough.
