Stephen Colbert on Chick-fil-A's Anti-Gay Marriage Stance
"No surprise that Chick-fil-A supports traditional marriage, unlike KFC's Double Down. Two chicken breasts rubbing up against each other? That is nothing but a lesbian fantasy snack." – Stephen Colbert

Tweet Roundup: Chick-fil-A Fried for Gay Marriage Stance
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy is in hot oil after a recent interview with Baptist Press. Surprisingly, everyone was surprised that a person being interviewed by Baptist Press had this to say about the definition of marriage…
"I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say 'we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage' and I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."
If gay marriage invites God's judgement, Cathy's stance invited the even more wrathful judgement of gay marriage proponents, including Boston mayor Tom Menino and the Muppets. That, in turn, invited Rick Santorum to tweet about being pro-chicken. Then Chick-fil-A trolled their own Facebook page.
Now what was an invite-only judgement party is raging out of control in that free speech circle of hell we call Twitter. Here are the best of the worst and worst of the best…
My kids are only allowed to bully teens who work at Chick-fil-a.

Rick Santorum Live-Panders His Meal at Chick-fil-A on Twitter
In America, we hold our fast food restaurants in such high esteem, that we listen to their stances on important social issues. The only scenario in which Chick-fil-A should have a public position on gay marriage is if chickens were gay marrying. And even then, let the chickens live their lives!Fortunately, politicians like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum are willing to fight for the right of a giant corporation to hate gay people. Before I embed these tweets, I should warn you, the only thing grosser than imagining Rick Santorum having sex is imagining Rick Santorum eating food…

Jon Stewart on the Right and Wrong Time to Talk About Guns
"So, you're telling me that it's too soon to even have a conversation about it? You're telling me that to discuss the epidemic of gun violence in this country, for that there is a waiting period." – Jon Stewart

Mike Huckabee Comes to Heroic Defense of Fried Chicken, Homophobia
Anybody who's been following the culture wars of late knows that some of the most brutal and bloody battles are being fought along the gay rights front. For too long, a long-suffering minority group has been beaten down and bullied by the more powerful and unsympathetic masses. Finally, we are seeing a hero emerge to rally the oppressed, raise their spirits and charge into the thick of the carnage to fight alongside God-fearing Christian companies like Chick Fil-A to defend their rights as Americans to be bigoted and discriminatory in the name of their religion…
"I have been incensed at the vitriolic assaults on the Chick Fil-A company because the CEO, Dan Cathy, made comments recently in which he affirmed his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld. The Cathy family, let by Chick Fil-A founder Truett Cathy, are a wonderful Christian family who are committed to operating the company with Biblical principles and whose story is the true American success story.
"Starting at age 46 Truett Cathy built Chick Fil-A into a $4 billion a year enterprise with over 1600 stores. At 91, he is still active in the company, but his son Dan runs it day to day as CEO. It's a great American story that is being smeared by vicious hate speech and intolerant bigotry from the left."
"Vitriolic assaults!" "Vicious hate speech!" "Intolerant bigotry from the left!" When will it end?
Why can't great American companies like Chick Fil-A be left alone to filter money into organizations like Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council — good Bible-minded groups that are actively working to curtail the rights of certain U.S. citizens — without having other groups and companies exercising their own rights to point out such donations and encourage people to not contribute their own money to it?
I just feel so overcome with the Spirit knowing that a public figure of Mike Huckabee's caliber has come to their defense. And, hey, if he manages to get a little complimentary fried chicken out of the deal, where's the harm in that?
