The Idaho Militia Wants YOU

And you. And you. And you. You too, grandma. State Sen. Jim Rice (R-Caldwell) wants to change the Idaho constitution to expand the state's militia to include every Idaho adult.
His reasoning: if the Supreme Court ever decides that the right to possess AR-15s and other small-penis-compensators belongs only to "well-organized militias" and not individuals, Idaho will have a well-armed "backstop" against gun-grabbing liberals.
Pretty clever, until you realize that Sen. Rice's plan for defending Idahoans against big government tyranny involves automatically enrolling them into a government posse. Hey, nothing says personal freedom like a draft.
On the other hand, the Idaho constitution already enrolls all "able-bodied male persons, residents of this state, between the ages of eighteen and forty-five years" into their own private Idaho army, so forcing women to join may be the most progressive suggestion an Idaho legislator has ever made.

Oklahoma Teabaggers Hope to Get OK from State Legislature for Anti-Federal Government Armed Militia
Decades from now, when your grand-freedom-children sit upon your knee and and ask to be told a patriot-story about how the oppressive and bloated Federal Government was violently ejected from power by the strong and noble Un-united States, you can lean back in your Barca-liberty-lounger and recount The Great Teabagger Rebellion's humble but proud beginnings in Oklahoma…Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.
Tea party movement leaders say they've discussed the idea with several supportive lawmakers and hope to get legislation next year to recognize a new volunteer force. They say the unit would not resemble militia groups that have been raided for allegedly plotting attacks on law enforcement officers.
And, thus, history was afoot. Though, your reminiscences will be remiss if they do not include the good work and support of actual Oklahoma state senator — not crazy bearded man living in the woods — Randy Brogdon…
State Sen. Randy Brogdon, R-Owasso, a Republican candidate for governor who has appealed for tea party support, said supporters of a state militia have talked to him, and that he believes the citizen unit would be authorized under the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
The founding fathers "were not referring to a turkey shoot or a quail hunt. They really weren't even talking about us having the ability to protect ourselves against each other," Brogdon said. "The Second Amendment deals directly with the right of an individual to keep and bear arms to protect themselves from an overreaching federal government."
And, even though Sen. Brogdon — or, as you will know him, High Bishop-Colonel Brogdon — attempted, unconvincingly, to walk his statements of support back in the press, you and your grand-freedom-children will know him as a hero whose image is embossed upon the $20 bullet casing.
But, don't spend too much time telling your grand-freedom-children nostalgic patriot-stories. You've got to clean your gun and get over to Ol' Red's double-wide in time for the foraging mission into Kansas.

How Do You Say "No Comment" in Hutarese?
There is this…
In an interview with Fox News' Shepard Smith, Andrea Harsh described [Hutaree leader David Brian Stone] her former fiancé's love of guns, violent opposition to President Obama, and support for Ron Paul as his three main preoccupations.
I'm just sayin' is all.
