Russian Meteorite Eerily Similar to Deep Impact Scenario [VIDEO]
The good news is that, for a few seconds at least, Vladimir Putin was only the second-most terrifying thing in Russia. Via Russia Today, we have this incredible video of a meteorite that crashed near the Ural mountains hours ago.
While this meteorite strike didn't do any serious damage, it's also a nice reminder that capital gains tax cuts and deficit reduction aren't going to save us from an indifferent universe. We should probably give NASA the funding it needs to track potentially dangerous asteroids (and come up with ways to mitigate the threat), because let's not kid ourselves: between these events in Russia and the fact that we have a black president, we're tempting fate with a Deep Impact scenario.
And that movie was terrible.
