Al Franken Brings Dems Closer to Coveted Super-Duper Majority
Now that Al Franken is a Senator, everyone is expecting him to bring some much-needed laughter to the halls of Congress. But let's not forget that there's more to Al Franken than comedy. He also wrote When a Man Love a Woman, so he might also tear the Senate apart with his out-of-control drinking.
The Colbert Report's take on Franken's victory can be found after the jump.
The Daily Show and Colbert Report air Monday through Thursday starting at 11pm / 10c.

Norm Colman Concedes, Curses America to Six Years of Al Franken
Our long national nightmare of boring court battles is finally over!Republican Norm Coleman conceded to Democrat Al Franken in Minnesota's contested Senate race on Tuesday, ending a nearly eight-month recount and court fight over an election decided by only a few hundred votes…
"The Supreme Court has made its decision and I will abide by the results," Coleman told reporters outside his St. Paul home.
I can't believe he's giving up after only bringing it all the way to the Minnesota Supreme Court.
He obviously didn't really want the job.

Al Franken Comes Closer to Winning Election He Won
Update: According to what I can make out from the television by my desk which is showing MSNBC on mute, Norm Coleman is finally accepting reality. More on this exciting news as I feel like bothering to write up a new post!* * *
Remember there was a Senate race in Minnesota way back when Mark Sanford was opposed to infidelity and Democrats still liked Barack Obama?
No? Well, trust me. There was. And here's some news about it…
The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.
The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.
Yep. Norm Coleman — the guy who lost that election those eleventy billion months ago — sure is running out of options for ways to try to convince people somehow that he won.
So, he shouldn't be able to hold off the inevitable for all that much longer now, and Franken's wait for finally claiming his seat shouldn't be any longer than another two, three years tops.
