The Best of The Daily Show's Indecision 2002 Midterm Coverage from Washington DC
So, we've all heard the news that The Daily Show will be traveling down to merry old Washington DC in October to cover the midterm elections. But did you know that this isn't the first time Jon Stewart et al have done that?
Fun fact: The Daily Show previously covered midterm elections from "The City of Supernumerous 7th Streets," as it is affectionately called, back in October of 2002. Need proof? Here's a highlight from that very trip…
Half Way to the White House
Need more proof? (Man, you are unhealthily skeptical.) You can find a whole collection of similar highlights from The Daily's Indecision 2002 coverage from Washington DC after the jump.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Rep. Joe Barton Gets Some Support from an Unlikely (Very Likely) Source
You'll be happy to know that the right-wing pundosphere totally has Joe Barton's back.
Thank God! I was really worried about that guy's feelings.

Quote Unquote: Joe Barton's Unmatched Courage
MSNBC pundit Pat Buchanan on Rep. Joe Barton's stirring and heartfelt apology to Tony Hayward and BP during congressional hearings this morning and why he is probably America's greatest American hero for what he has done…
"I will say this. Barton made a very courageous statement in my judgment, when you consider that BP is probably universally loathed and even hated for what has happened, that horrendous tragedy down on the Gulf."
I guess, when you put it that way, it is kind of courageous. In the same way that it's courageous for Pat Buchanan to go on TV and defend Barton's apology.
Wait a sec. "Courageous" is a synonym for "obsequious," isn't it? (My thesaurus is currently in the shop.)

Pat Buchanan vs. Facts: The Eternal Battle
How disgusted are you by the past several weeks' not-at-all moronic argument about exactly how racist and suppressive-of-white-people that Hispanic woman who's the first-ever Hispanic women to be nominated for the Supreme Court is? Very? Very very? I'm sorry.
In case you have just a tiny little bit of tolerance for idiotic delusional talking points in there, this'll squeeze the last bit out…
Totally, totally, totally unfair of Rachel Maddow to use facts against Pat Buchanan's arguments! She should know how much he hates those!

Michelle Malkin vs. Pat Buchanan: Can You Tell the Difference?

She's half his age. He's twice her size. She's (much to her chagrin) Asian-American. He's as American as it gets (without actually being Native American and discounting his Irish immigrant ancestry.) Yet, in some ways, this femme fatale blogger and alpha male TV talker are very much alike. See if you can tell the difference between Michelle Malkin and Pat Buchanan. No cheating! All cheaters will be deported.
