From the Pork Barrel: Mexicali Blues

* Looks like Barack Obama may have received donations from a people who turned out to be refugees hiding in Mexico. If I were Mitt Romney, I'd be really mad at my family.
* Michael Steele does not "appreciate" gay marriage being compared to interracial marriage. Political leaders these days, they don't "appreciate" anything.
* Bill O'Reilly: "The bigotry against pro-life people is I think way more than the bigotry against gay people." He may be right; even reason seems to be in opposition to his people.
* Tonight's primary in Missouri is a completely meaningless relic of bygone days. Which, come to think of it, probably goes a long way toward explaining Rick Santorum's dominance there.

Proposition 8 Ruled Unconstitutional by 9th Circuit Court

California's Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriages is unconstitutional, a three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals just ruled. The judges upheld a lower court's ruling…
"Although the Constitution permits communities to enact most laws they believe to be desirable," the opinion states, "it requires that there be at least a legitimate reason for the passage of a law that treats different classes of people differently. There was no such reason that Proposition 8 could have been enacted."
Why does there have to be a "legitimate" reason?
Is an "emotionally-charged fear-based" reason good enough for no one anymore?

What Stephen Colbert and David Boies Talk About When They Talk About Gay Marriage
Constitutional scholar, lawyer and admitted liberal David Boies was Stephen's special guest on The Report last night to explain why he and his former adversary in Bush v. Gore — conservative lawyer Ted Olson — are seeing eye to eye on Marriage Equality, why opponents of marriage equality in California have no standing, and why families with "ready made" babies are still families…

From Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal…
I'll have to figure out whether this is referencing Prop 8 or this stem cell thing before I decide if this is funny.
