Mitt Romney Was Least Popular RNC Speaker

If the Republicans wanted to induce a convention bounce in Florida, they should have really scheduled an Early Bird Mitt Romney speech, because as it is, the evening speeches did not improve Romney's chances, according to Public Policy Polling.

After his speech, 49% of voters had a positive opinion of Romney to 47% with a negative one, a mediocre rating compared to the overwhelming popularity of Condi Rice (66% positive, 22% negative), Marco Rubio (51-33%) and Clint Eastwood (72-11%)…

Everyone else who spoke in the 10 PM hour at the convention has better favorability numbers than Mitt Romney. Besides those already mentioned Susana Martinez has a +19 spread at 35/16, Chris Christie has a +9 spread at 41/32, and Paul Ryan has a +7 spread at 47/40.

Wait, everyone else who spoke after 10 PM has better favorability numbers? That means Clint Eastwood's chair is more popular! It figures. Lazy Americans are way more into empty chairs than empty suits.
