National Organization for Marriage's (Unintentional) Pro-Gay Message
The National Organization for Straight Marriage has a blog, which they fill up every day with posts all about denying freedoms to American citizens whom they don't like. I'm not sure how much bandwidth that much hate takes to maintain on a daily basis, but it must be a lot, because they sometimes find themselves cutting corners.
Like yesterday, when they found this comic from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (a favorite of ours), and — deciding it struck just the right chord for their progress = evil mentality that they decided to post it on their site…
But instead of using proper internet etiquette and hosting the image themselves with a link back to the source (as we do here), they linked directly to the image on the SMBC website.
SMBC's Zach Weiner — apparently unhappy with his site's bandwidth going to propagate NOM's anti-gay, anti-civil liberties, anti-simple human decency message — worked some internet magic.
So NOM, instead, ended up posting this on their site…
Still very funny. But for very different reasons.
