Lindsey Graham Looks Like an Old Lesbian
On last night's Daily Show, in response to Lindsey Graham using anonymous comments to criticize Sonia Sotomayor, Jon Stewart pulled out some choice anonymous internet comments about Graham himself. But, it should be noted that not all online comments about the South Carolina Republican are negative. For example, "Lind$ey Gr@H@m gos allnight wth hrbal ç1@l1S!!," is quite complimentary.
The Daily Show's coverage of the Sotomayor hearings continue after the jump.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

The NRA Fires Back As Republicans Roll Over for Sonia Sotomayor

Despite all their tough filibustery talk, Senate Republicans yesterday threw in their respective towels, clearing Sonia Sotomayor for a quick confirmation vote before Congress recesses on August 7.The stink of RINO traitorism hung heavy in the air…
"Your judicial record strikes me as pretty much in the mainstream of judicial decision-making," said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas. Added Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.: "You have, as a judge, been generally in the mainstream."
Oh really? Because that is the exact opposite of what scientific research says. When was the last time John Cornyn and Lindsey Grahamnesty set foot in mainstream America, anyway? Well, take heart, Mainstream-Americans. Someone's on your side…
From the outset, the National Rifle Association has respected the confirmation process and hoped for mainstream answers to bedrock questions. Unfortunately, Judge Sotomayor’s judicial record and testimony clearly demonstrate a hostile view of the Second Amendment and the fundamental right of self-defense guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.
And so the NRA will not be voting for this terrible Constitution-hating judge.
Unless, of course, she proves her commitment to the Second Amendment by making good on her threat to shoot Tom Coburn.

The C-SPAN Roast of Judge Sonia Sotomayor, Starring Al Franken
by Frank Angones
The Senate Judiciary Confirmation Hearings of Sonia Sotomayor have also served as a bit of a coming out party for newly-minted Senator Al Franken (D, Laughsylvania). And seven long, jokeless days into his term, the senator finally gave us Franken acolytes (aka Frankolytes) exactly what we were waiting for: his opinion on a constitutional right to privacy! OH, and also he told his first joke on the floor of the Senate!
After a lengthy questioning period, Franken asked fellow Perry Mason enthusiast Sotomayor to name the episode where everyone’s favorite fictional lawyer actually lost a case to longtime rival Hamilton Burger. Like a good Supreme Court nominee, Sotomayor tried to squirm her way out of answering the question, and Franken totally nailed her, in a strictly Senatorial fashion…
First off, I was under the impression that everything said in Congress is a joke. ZING! You like that one, Franken? You can have it.
Secondly, I'm more terrified than tickled. I expect every member of the highest court in the land to have a Wikipedic knowledge of not only Perry Mason, but every single piece of fiction related to the law. You should see Scalia's one-man performance of My Cousin Vinny.
For the record, the episode Franken is asking about is The Case the Deadly Verdict, Season 7, Episode 4. President Obama, I await your appointment.

Al Franken's Other SCOTUS Confirmation Hearing
You know, watching Sen. Al Franken up there on the TV screen at a Supreme Court confirmation hearing, I thought I was getting kind of a deja vu-y kind of vibe.
And then Matt Tobey sent me this…
Weird!
But, no. That's not it.
Oh, wait! This is it…

Sonia Sotomayor Finally Gets the Hang of These Confirmation Hearings

It took three whole days for Sonia Sotomayor to figure out the best way of dealing with her Senate inquisitors…She joked openly with members of the Judiciary Committee while increasingly avoiding their questions.
"Wise" move! (See what I did there?) This is just like Ben Bernanke's walrus trick, except a hell of a lot funnier. Don't believe me? Just watch the judge's trademark standup skills in action…
Asked by Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.), who co-sponsored a landmark campaign finance measure, for her thoughts on that subject, Sotomayor replied that the first case she would hear, if confirmed to the Supreme Court, might be a case involving that law. "It would be inappropriate for me to say anything about that area of the law," she told Feingold.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Wait, I don't get it.
She meant to say "the Aristocrats," right?
