Note to Self: Do Not Go into Politics in South Korea
Here's an actual thing that happened in the South Korean parliament…
Did I just watch that? Am I just about to read this?
Hundreds of competing lawmakers screamed and wrestled in South Korea's parliament Wednesday as a rivalry over contentious media reform bills descended into a brawl that sent at least one to a hospital.
Well, that was unusual…
The scenes were not unusual to South Korea's confrontational and melodramatic politics, where rival parties sometimes resort to violence to get their way. Last year, opposition lawmakers used sledgehammers to pound their way into a parliamentary committee room to block the ruling party from introducing a bill to ratify a free trade pact with the United States.
I stand corrected. That seems remarkably un-unusual. Super un-unusual, actually.
Politics… bah! So boring!

New Picture of Kim Jong-Il Might Maybe Be Photoshopped Possibly
I'm not sure what to make of the recent speculations about Kim Jong-il's failing health…
An image of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, shown recently on government-run television appears to be a doctored version of an earlier photo, raising the possibility that Mr. Kim’s health has deteriorated to the point where he has had to skip public appearances, a South Korean newspaper reported on Monday.
Take a look for yourself at the "new" photo alongside the one that was supposedly doctored and come to your own conclusions. Pay special attention to the bottom-row corners…
What do you think? Personally, I'm still on the fence.
