Colbert Unveils the Nazi-ometer
Comparing people to Nazis is a super effective tool, but it can often be hard to figure out exactly which Nazi is most appropriate for a given situation. After all, the barista who uses 2% when you asked for skim is not the same kind of Nazi as your next door neighbor who didn't snowblow your sidewalk even though you put his newspaper on his porch that one time. And if you actually read up on the history of Nazis, you run the risk of realizing how inappropriate it is to equate people to members of the Third Reich in the first place, and then where will you be? Well, luckily, Stephen Colbert has come up with a handy scale to make Nazi-comparing as simple as calling your boss a fascist.
The Colbert Report airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30/10:30c.

Jon Stewart Disproves Megyn Kelly's Nazi Claims
While discussing Rep. Steve Cohen's inappropriate comparison of the GOP to Joseph Goebbels, Fox News's Megyn Kelly claimed this week that the pundits and hosts on her network never equate their opponents to Nazis. Well, as you can probably imagine, it took almost no effort for Jon Stewart and the Daily Show staff to thoroughly refute Kelly's assertion. Maybe next time, she'll stick to statements that aren't quite as demonstrably false. You know, like, "the sky is red" or "water is dry."
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11/10c.

Jon Stewart Calls Rep. Steve Cohen Out for Comparing GOP to Nazis
As you may have heard, Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen of Tennessee recently used GOP attempts to repeal health care reform as an opportunity to compare Republicans to Nazis. I cannot believe that guy. You know who else liked to shamelessly compare their political opponents to Nazis? The Nazis! I'm sorry, that was really out of line. I was a total Nazi for calling Cohen a Nazi for calling Republicans Nazis. I'd like to Nazi a sincere Nazi to Nazi Nazi. I am very Nazi.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11/10c.

Democratic Congressman Compares GOP to Nazis, Breaks Historic 137 Minutes of Congressional Civility
Can you believe it? With CNN and John Boehner going to such heroic efforts to clean up political rhetoric, Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) has to go and ruin it all by stepping onto the House floor and behaving like a total miscreant…“They say it's a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels," Cohen said. "You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. That's the same kind of thing. And Congressman Cohen didn’t stop there.
“The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it — believed it and you have the Holocaust. We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care. Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover," Cohen said.
Dude! Not cool! Total breach of congressional etiquette.
According to Robert's Rules of Order, a legislator is never supposed to compare his opponents with Nazis before the First of May. Until then, he should limit his pejorative correlations to Communists and pedophiles.
Nazi-ism is really more of a summertime aspersion.

Rep. Steve Cohen's Eulogy for Alex Chilton
As I'm sure all of you know, Alex Chilton died of a heart attack on Wednesday. Of course you know that, because how can you not know that? How can you not know that a musician of his immense popularity had died? I mean it's probably all over the cable news networks with cameras covering candlelight vigils and helicopters following ambulances and whatnot. Because he was pretty much the singer laureate of America, am I right?
As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, I'm probably interrupting your grieving process. Sorry! Please forgive my rudeness. I just wanted to share this nice, heartfelt eulogy that Tennessee's Rep. Steve Cohen gave Alex Chilton on the House floor yesterday…
I know. I know. It gets so hard at times like now to hold on.
