Excellent news: Conan O'Brien will be the headline entertainer at this year's White House Correspondents Association dinner. Conan last performed at the event, informally known as "nerd prom," in 1995. It's an inspired choice that could only be ruined by having Jay Leno show up to give the primetime performance, pushing Conan to 12:05 AM.
Previous headliners have included Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers, whose acts you can relive right now while awaiting Conan's April 27th appearance:

Also, you're probably not from Bakersfield, California. That city placed last in an annual study of 75 large American cities aimed at ranking "America's Most Literate Cities."
The study, by Central Connecticut State University president John Miller, is based on data that includes the number of bookstores, library resources, newspaper circulation, Internet access and educational attainment.
To the top 10:

Inauguration ball date needed
I want to go to an innauguration ball at the La'Plaza hotel. The ticket is like 85-100 bucks, the hotel room is like 250.00. I would like to dress up and go with a gentlemen that wants to go out with a classy, witty, woman to this event. I would like to get dressed up, meet you, dance and drink all night and then retire to the hotel room. I guarantee you will have a great time. I am not saying that sex is involved.
Not only is she not saying sex is involved, this was listed under "Strictly Platonic," so there you have it. Strictly platonic retiring to the hotel room. Maybe she means actual retirement. Maybe this is an innovative lobbying effort from the AARP.

Despite recent revelations that he'd sung a violent anti-America song in 2004, Psy performed at Sunday's Christmas in Washington concert as scheduled.
And here he is shaking hands with our Commander-in-Chief, who also attended the concert despite the fact that it included a performance by someone who is, quite simply, an affront to American values.
(I'm talking about Scotty McCreery, duh.)
Bonus pic from the concert, featuring Joe Biden being extra-jolly, after the jump…
