Don't believe me?

I know I'm supposed to be incredulous about this, but I guess I'm just all out of incredulous juice for the time being.

And I don't really think this is a matter of slumming or pandering to the worst elements of society for attention.

That show's been in steady decline for years.

Not really because John Edwards was a white guy — which was just soooo 2004 — but because of that whole cheating on his wife thing — which was soooo 1999…

Basically, if it looked like Edwards was going to win the Democratic Party nomination, they were going to sabotage his campaign, several former Edwards' staffers have told me.

They said they were Democrats first, and if it looked like Edwards was going to become the nominee, they were going to bring down the campaign.

Thank god somebody was prepared to do the scuzzy thing if it came down to it. I guess that's what makes them good cogs in the D.C. machine.

* November 2006: 41% of Alaska votes against women for Governor.

* August 2008: A bipartisan Alaska legislative council investigates whether women fired Public Safety Commisioner Walt Monegan to settle a personal score.

* September 2008: Barack Obama calls women a pig.

* September 2008: Katie Couric humiliates women on national TV with questions about Russia and newspapers.

* November 4, 2008: 53% of the nation rejects women for higher office by voting for Barack Obama.

Well there's more bad news for women. Someone hates them even more than America: ABC News.

That's what Fox's Greta Van Susteren discovered during a recent viewing of ABC's This Week (don't tell Roger Ailes) which featured– gasp!– zero references to Sarah Palin…

I just watched ABC's show This Week and the guest is California Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger… he was just asked about the Republican Party's FUTURE and the Republican Governor's Association meeting this past week in Miami. ABC News then ran tape of Gov Pawlenty, Gov Jindal, Gov Barbour and Gov Crist. Who was invisible? Gov Palin… the woman Governor of the biggest state and recently on the ticket.

Greta goes on — with grammar and syntax that aren't exactly helpful to the women's movement– at one point imploring her readers to "not read this blog as a pro-Palin blog entry but do read this as a pro-women blog entry."

That isn't to say you can't find pro-Palin blog entries out there. In fact, here's one from Greta herself.

And if you're more the TV type, you can always opt for her multi-part puff piece interview with the Governor, airing in a constant loop on Fox.

After months of silence, the 1960's radical William Ayers sat down for his first television interview on Friday and condemned what he called a "dishonest narrative" used by Republicans to "demonize" him.

"I don't buy the idea that guilt by association should have any part of our politics," Mr. Ayers said, appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America." "This idea that we need to know more, like there's some dark, hidden secret, some secret link. It's a myth thrown up by people who want to exploit the politics of fear."

Yeah, sure. This would be a lot easier to believe if it weren't coming from the mouth of a man who pals around with Barack Obama, a man who pals around with domestic terrorists like William Ayers, a man with a violent past…

"What you call the violent past, that was a time when thousands of people were being murdered every month by our own government. We were on the right side."

Luckily, ABC was somehow able to put an end to interview before Ayers had time to domestically terrorize the studio.

There were no casualties.

Now in an interview with George Stephanopoulos (that last name sounds kinda Muslim to me, too), Obama Freudianly slipped, stating, "my Muslim faith"…

Some people may claim that the comment was obviously satirically sarcastic. But since Muslims don't under satire, it's pretty clear Obama meant what he said.

Palin's utter lack of blunders or ignorant remarks on the Sunday interview shows proved that she was hardly your typical candidate for vice president. Not once this weekend did she…

* Pump her fist at Bob Schieffer and shout "Drill baby, drill!"

* Pledge to George Stephanopoulos that, once in Washington, she will hunt her own meals via assault rifle out of a helicopter.

* Assure FOX's Chris Wallace that she could "pray away the gay" in Shepard Smith.

* Lie to Tom Brokaw about selling a jet on eBay and opposing the "Bridge to Nowhere."

That's right, to the relief of her supporters, Palin didn't do any of those things this weekend.

No, it turns out she spent most of Sunday doing something infinitely more vice-presidential…

Hiding out in an undisclosed location.

In an exclusive "This Week" interview, Obama told George Stephanopoulos that he considered joining the military after finishing high school.

"I had to sign up for selective service when I graduated from High School," he explained. "I actually always thought of the military as an ennobling and you know, honorable option."

Obama suggested his decision not to enlist was an issue of timing, not service. "I graduated in 1979. The Vietnam War had come to an end. We weren't engaged in an active military conflict at that point. And so, it's not an option that I ever decided to pursue," he said.

Gotta admit here that I'm confused. Obama thought strongly about joining the military, but didn't do it because the Vietnam War was over.

What was his thought process? "Well, I'd like to sign up, but now we're in peacetime. I'd probably spend my time hanging out at some base in California, doing nothing but playing ping pong and receiving generous benefits and money for college. Nah. If you don't get to get shot and die for a worthless cause in a Vietnamese jungle, what's the point?"

Either something is beginning to rumble in the Democratic race… or the race is already over (and someone just forgot to tell the superdelegates).

Either the Clintons have the pull to keep the race alive for another month… or they've long since worn out their welcome…

Either the Sunday morning TV face-off between Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will redefine the race… or it won't.

Either it's a really slow news day… or somebody at the ABC News website just thinks boring shit is interesting.

ABC has announced that prospective First Lady Cindy McCain is planning on dropping by to chat with whoever the hell it is who's on that show these days…

Cindy McCain is joining the ladies on "The View" — at least for a day. Republican candidate John McCain's wife will be a co-host on the ABC daytime chat show next Monday.

She'll give conservative host Elisabeth Hasselbeck a rare ally in the show's political conversations.

Expect lots of talk about something or other, along with strained polite laughter, well-practiced poise, and vacant gazes a-plenty.

Man, this is gonna be good!
