Last night's Daily Show was devoted entirely to the State of the Union, including the GOP response and the media coverage. And if you saw the SOTU, you know it was a much-needed reminder in these difficult times, that despite our many differences, we Americans have in us the ability to unite behind the common goal of laughing at the boobs in Washington and the boners on cable news. Just as the founders intended.
The Daily Show's coverage of the SOTU continues below. And you can see The Colbert Report's take here.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Wednesday, the President gave his first State of the Union address, which was followed by a GOP response delivered by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. But all that was just warmup for Stephen Colbert's SOTU, a breathtaking oration presented on last night's Colbert Report. I don't know about you guys, but the entire time I was watching this, I forgot Stephen was black.
Stephen's interview with David Gergen can be found below.
The Colbert Report airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30pm / 10:30c.

10:44 – This was not a response. This was barely even a speech. What was this? Why did I just watch this?
10:42 – Did you notice that he quoted Scott Brown? That's because Scott Brown is the new Joe the Plumber.
10:41 – Haha! They got tricked into applauding for Haiti. That country is full of black people and French people. Jokes on them.
10:40 – Does anybody know what this guy is saying? I know all these words, but I don't know what they mean next to one another.
10:38 – Mary: "I think Bob McDonnell uses the same shampoo as John Edwards. "

In light of Tuesday's elections, one thing is abundantly clear: If you want your boring local election to gain unwarranted national weight and prominence, hold it in an off year. Better yet, don't even hold it in November. Move your deputy county comptroller election to April 2011, and watch it become a bellwether referendum on the future of all carbon-based species.
After the jump, coverage of the election results continues with The Daily Show.
The Daily Show and Colbert Report air Monday through Thursday starting at 11pm / 10c.

Looks like she did it! Sarah Palin has successfully robocalled her way into a thrilling victory against Barack Obama in Virginia to win the governorship for Robert McDonnell…
The gubernatorial race in the Old Dominion State goes to Robert McDonnell, the Republican candidate and former attorney general. We’re all calling the race for the G.O.P. candidate, with R. Creigh Deeds, the Democrat and state senator, trailing.
Congratulations to Ms. Palin. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all knew you and your values could do it!
But what happens to Obama now? Does he just resign tomorrow? He's not gonna have to serve out the remaining three years of his lame duck presidency, will he?
