We Are the Ones Glenn Beck Has Been Waiting For

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

This personalized video thing from MoveOn actually comes out better if you just go there yourself and let it suck information from your Facebook account (most likely so that it can keep you on file for whatever radical socialist community organizing plans MoveOn has up its sleeve).

But, if you're not willing to hand that information over to the communists just yet, you can get an general idea of it here…

Teabagger Movement "Fruitless Mix of Racism, Conspiracy Theories" According to Fox News Poll

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Fox News just recently ran an internet poll.

Unfortunately, they ran their internet poll on the internet

Now, to be fair, as Fox points out, "This is not a scientific poll." Certainly not.

If it were "scientific," its results would be kind of suspect.

Arch-Criminal Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Obama) Narrowly Escapes the Long Arm of the Law

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Barry Soetoro — the Indonesian fundamentalist Muslim operative currently masquerading as Barack Hussein Obama and illegally holding the position of President of the United States hostage — lives to president another day.

And we have Monroe County, Tennessee to blame for this travesty of justice

Walt Fitzpatrick, of Sweetwater, has long sought an indictment against President Barack Obama on treason charges, appeared before the Monroe County Grand Jury Tuesday seeking to bring treason charges against the president. Monroe County is one of the few places in the country where a citizen can present a case to the grand jury. In most areas, only a prosecutor can bring a case to the grand jury…

The grand jury indictments will be sealed until Dec. 7, but Fitzpatrick's comments after he came out of the grand jury room indicated he did not get what he wanted.

Fitzpatrick told his followers lined up outside the Monroe County Courthouse that it appeared like he would have the case heard in another county.

Maybe it's just as well. When the feds finally do catch up with Barry "The Scimitar" Soetoro, one thing's for sure: He won't go quietly, see. He'll take down this whole country, see. One push of a button and Kablammo! You'll pay! You'll all pay, see!

And he would've gotten away with it if it were for you meddling birthers!

Birthers vs. Truthers (or The Battle in Which We All Lose)

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Hey, everybody's got stupid people whom they'd rather would just shut up on their side. No party ideology has a monopoly on idiocy.

However, if you're a Republican, then the odds are pretty good that the stupid person is you

Forty-two percent of Republicans say President Obama was born outside the United States, while only 37 percent say he was born here.

Twenty-five percent of Democrats say President George W. Bush let 9/11 happen, while 63 percent say he didn't.

At a certain point, you have to wonder if ignorance is a lifestyle choice.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Believing the Unbelievable

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Do you have time to read a not-all-that-long article that is actually pretty smart and well-thought out? (Okay, there's some numbers in it and references to scientific studies, but you can just skim over those parts like I did.)

If so, I recommend that you read Sharon Begley's Newsweek article in which she explains how belief in death panels and impending socialism is caused by the same kind of thinking that lets people believe that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, that George Bush planned 9/11, and/or that Real House Wives of New Jersey qualifies as a genuine form of entertainment…

Some people form and cling to false beliefs about health-care reform (or Obama's citizenship) despite overwhelming evidence thanks to a mental phenomenon called motivated reasoning, says sociologist Steven Hoffman, visiting assistant professor at the University at Buffalo.

"Rather than search rationally for information that either confirms or disconfirms a particular belief," he says, "people actually seek out information that confirms what they already believe." And God knows, in the Internet age there is no dearth of sources to confirm even the most ludicrous claims (my favorite being that the moon landings were faked).

"For the most part," says Hoffman, "people completely ignore contrary information" and are able to "develop elaborate rationalizations based on faulty information."

I recommend reading the whole article, even though it doesn't really get to the heart of the matter as far as I'm concerned.

Chupacabras, I'm telling you. They're conspiring with the Jawas and the Canadians to keep these rumors afloat.

If only people would read my pamphlet!

My Sincerest Apologies to the Idiot from Earlier Today

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

It appears that I owe a huge, huge apology to the crazy lady in the Barney Frank town hall video from earlier today.

I had inaccurately assumed that she was an idiot Fox News-watching Republican. But it turns out that she's an idiot Lyndon LaRouche-reading Democrat. Whoops!

This is so embarrassing for me. I really hate confusing one type of reckless moron who lives outside of reality with another type of reckless moron who lives outside of reality.

Like, one time I saw this guy on the street screaming about how the president lied to us and is conspiring with foreign powers to kill Americans, and I said, "Look at that stupid Truther," and my friend said, "That's not a Truther. That's a Birther," and then I was like, "I am so sorry for making that egregious error." And then I cried.
