Uh oh. Looks like Chairman Obama has been siccing his Ministry of Information agents on Wikipedia to scrub his page clean of all the important, completely-not-conspiratory information about him…

The brewing scandal was first reported by WorldNetDaily reporter Aaron Klein, who noticed that edits adding references to [William] Ayers and [Jeremiah] Wright, among other things, were quickly being undone by Wikipedia volunteers.

Klein found it particularly alarming that a Wikipedia user called "Jerusalem21" was recently hit with a three-day wiki-suspension after twice posting the neutral and encyclopedic fact that there are "some doubts about whether Obama was born in the U.S. "

That was Sunday. Fox picked up Klein's explosive scoop today, noting in the first paragraph that — in contrast to Obama's entry — the Wikipedia "pages for Ayers and Wright are heavily peppered with references to the president."

What?! You mean the Wiki pages for Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright — two men who are talked about today solely because of their relationships with Barack Obama — mention their relationships with Barack Obama. But the page about Barack Obama doesn't mention them?

What can they possibly write about on his page if not about Jeremiah Wright or William Ayers? Has he done anything else of importance besides know them?

Well, I mean, besides the presidency thing.

Presidential elections in our country tend to put greater emphasis on church attendance than, say, international nuclear proliferation. And this year was no exception, with pastors like Jeremiah Wright and John Hagee getting far more press exposure than actual presidential candidates like Tom Vilsack and Jim Gilmore.

No one knew this better than Barack Obama, whose campaign nearly collapsed under the weight of Wright's controversial sermons and God-awful JFK impersonation. The Illinois Senator felt forced to drop out of Wright's church and bounce between a number of other ones between late April and Election Day.

But now that he won, he can finally drop that whole act…

President-elect Barack Obama has yet to attend church services since winning the White House earlier this month, a departure from the example of his two immediate predecessors.

On the three Sundays since his election, Obama has instead used his free time to get in workouts at a Chicago gym.

Indeed, there are few place you're more likely to find Obama than not in church. Recall, if you will, the controversy surrounding Wright's "God damn America" sermon. Obama claims to have never heard Wright utter those words. Why?

Because he didn't attend church that day.

And where was Obama when Hagee declared that Hitler was sent by God to herd the Jews to Israel? Hypocritically playing basketball perhaps.

Come to think of it, Obama has also been neglecting his obligations to secretly attend a mosque and secretly pray toward Mecca five times per day ever since the day he was born!

What a disappointment. Doesn't Obama realize that religious zealots make by far the most entertaining presidents? The man hasn't even taken office, and already he's making Dick Cheney look like Jimmy Swaggart at a pentacostal tent revival.

The Arizona Republican, Davis argued, had been jilted by the remarks of Rep. John Lewis, who compared recent GOP crowds to segregationist George Wallace's rallies. And, as such, the campaign was going to "rethink" what was in and out of political bounds.

Indeed, it has been a long time since we've seen or heard from Reverend Wright, who, since his National Press Club fiasco, seems to be taking advice from Dick Cheney's travel agent.

But now it seems he's coming to a McCain ad near you. The only question is, in what form?

Will he be draped in robes and shouting "God Damn America "? Will he be bickering with Sean Hannity about black liberation theology? Or will he be performing a gay marriage between Bill Ayers and Joe the Plumber?

Only Rick Davis knows for sure.

Ever since the economy tanked and John McCain was unable to soothe it back to life with his vigorous PR stunts, he's been loathe to even talk about it. Especially when there were so many more pressing issues, like some guy who threw bombs at government building 40 years ago and a black preacher who didn't always say nice things about America. You know, important stuff.

If history teaches us anything, it's that negative attacks against a political opponent always work, 100% of the time, without fail, except for when they don't.

According to a new Washington Post/ABC News poll, the McCain campaign's shit-slinging attacks against Barack Obama and his gay lovers Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright may have actually hurt McCain more than Obama. It appears that…

…Obama is pulling away from McCain, establishing a 10-point lead in the race for the White House by a commanding 53 percent to 43 percent.

McCain had tried to overcome sliding poll numbers by aggressively attacking the Illinois senator, but the Washington Post/ABC News poll indicates that the pit-bull style may have worked against McCain and Palin.

It found that 59 percent accused McCain of negative campaigning, while 35 percent said McCain is addressing the issues.

That is so not fair. Here's John McCain, going to all the trouble of demolishing the reputation for being a respectable politician he's spent decades cultivating, and the electorate doesn't even appreciate his efforts.

Who truly is the one lacking honor, John McCain or America?

So let's recap: New polls show Barack Obama has widened his leads in Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. Voters are blaming House Republicans for the failure of the bailout legislation on Monday, and no one is able to explain how — or if — John McCain made a difference in the bill negotiations.

Now GOP strategists are urging McCain to turn things around by outlining a clear plan for the economy, reassuring a shaken nation with some dignified words of wisdom and taking the media's questions head-on, like the straight talker he is.

Ha ha! Just kidding. Hey, did you hear that Barack Obama's best friend is a radical hippie terrorist?

GOP officials also believe that a sustained attack on Obama's ties to his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, scandal-stained businessman Tony Rezko and former radical war protester William Ayers could sway undecided voters…

"We're not talking, for instance, about the radical associations that Barack Obama has, with Mr. Ayers, Tony Rezko and so on," [Tennessee GOP Chairman Robin] Smith said. "More could be done."

Murray Clark, the chairman of the Indiana Republican Party, said he is eager for Obama's "troubling relationships" to be aired in his state. "I think those things will come up in Indiana again and they do have an impact on mainstream voters in Indiana. You call it going negative, [but] whoever … is in a position to point out these relationships, I think it's helpful."

Yes, Murray, it certainly is helpful. I'm sure that pointing out these "troubling relationships" will make a big difference for those undecided voters who are worried about things like gas prices, unemployment, the Iraq war and this econopocalypse we seem to still be having.

Besides, pointing out "troubling relationships" is fun! Like the time everybody pointed out McCain campaign manager Rick Davis's handouts from Freddie Mac. Very troubling!

Oh, was that not what you meant?

Turns out, he's made it all the way up to this year's primary season.

Kristol weighs in today with a solution for John McCain's current campaign woes, and it reeks of mid-April: Bring back Jeremiah Wright…

The McCain campaign might consider responding by calling attention to Chapter 14 of Obama's eloquent memoir, "Dreams From My Father." There Obama quotes from the brochure of Reverend Wright's church — a passage entitled "A Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness."

Considering that Kristol got his op-ed column through The New York Times' own version of affirmative action, he should have second thoughts about playing the race card in this election.

Besides, if we're re-introducing the skeezy reverend quotient to the campaign, Barack Obama could always remind voters of McCain supporter Pastor John Hagee, who committed an act far more shameful than anything Jeremiah Wright did…

He sponsored a conference headlined by Joe Lieberman.

Unsure of who wrote the playbook for John McCain's increasingly negative campaign against Barack Obama? Well have you considered former Hillary Clinton strategist Mark Penn?

According to the upcoming issue of The Atlantic, Penn was pushing Clinton as far back as March 2007 to raise public doubts on Obama's "roots to basic American values and culture." Regarding Obama's virtues as a multicultural candidate, Penn opined, "Save it for 2050," adding…

"I cannot imagine America electing a president during a time of war who is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values."

Sounds like Penn had been receiving e-mails intended for somebody's Jewish grandmother in South Florida. Or maybe he was the one sending them. Who knows.

And what's more American than stirring up racial tensions?

"If you believe that serious issues need to be raised then we have to raise them without continual hesitation and we should be pushing the envelope. Won't a single tape of [the Reverend Jeremiah] Wright going off on America with Obama sitting there be a game ender?

"Many people… believe under the surface that 20 years sitting there with Goddamn America would make him unelectable by itself."

It might very well have been a "game ender," but such a tape never showed up.

However, having no strategy past New Hampshire, blowing through money like MC Hammer and openly courting the George Wallace wing of the Democratic Party seemed to do the trick quite nicely.
