President Barack Obama will host a dinner at the White House this evening celebrating Ramadan, the final month of the Muslim lunar calendar in which observants fast from dawn until sunset each day.

Obama, who is Christian, has attempted to recognize the contributions of all religions with personal gestures such as the dinners – he also traveled to Cairo in June to address the Muslim world with an appeal for understanding.

See that? Right there in black and boldface! It's all Muslim all the time with this guy, who is known to be probably a Muslim. I find this noteworthy. Anyone else find this noteworthy?

[The event is a] noteworthy update to President Obama's light schedule this week, considering the rumors about his religion that lingered throughout the 2008 campaign.

Muslim rumors, you mean — noted! Noted also, if you dig through the internet for information about this Muslim holiday and the White House, you find some equally noteworthy presidential comments, like this:

As it is commonly understood around the Indecision offices that you are of the female genre of people, would it be improper of me to inquire the following questions from you?

* Who is Sophie Theallet, and how is it that Michelle Obama might have found herself in possession of her clothing?

* What is a "bow blouse," and is that an appropriate choice for a late summer Massachusetts funeral?

* As a good American, am I supposed to impressed by these choices and mentally comparing her to the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, or simply aghast by her at the  utter gaucheness of it all?

* How does any of this constitute "news"?

The Secret Service is investigating a man who authorities said held a sign reading "Death to Obama" outside a town hall meeting on health-care reform in western Maryland.

It also doesn't say what his preferred cable news network is or whether he thinks a person should ever refer to himself as a "dittohead" with anything other than a deep sense of shame. I guess we'll never know.

But, you know, carrying a sign that says "Death to Obama" is pretty stupid and reckless and aweful. But it's not deeply disturbing or just plain disgusting or anything like that.

Are you sure the sign didn't also say anything else? Can you just double check for us newspaper article?

The sign also read, "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids," referring to the first name of President Barack Obama's wife, said Washington County Sheriff's Capt. Peter Lazich.

But Michelle who? I just can't quite get a handle on exactly what type of person this guy is. Hmmm…
