The Daily Show on Obama's Final Health Care Push

POSTED BY: Matt Tobey

On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart reported on President Obama's last ditch efforts to pass health care reform and Fox News's coverage of a liberal health care protest. I honestly didn't even know there were liberal health care protesters. I hope they at least came up with a better name than Tea-Baggers. You know, like Queef-Poopers or something.

The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Jon Stewart's Extended Interview with Marc Thiessen

POSTED BY: Matt Tobey

On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart interviewed Marc Thiessen, an author, former spokesman for Jesse Helms and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush. Now, say what you will about his arguments (they're disingenuous, fallible, unpatriotic, etc.), but you have to admit that Thiessen looks every bit as good now as he did when he played Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell. Anyway, the interview went, long, but as promised on the show, the full unedited segment is here online.

Parts two and three of the interview can be found below.

The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Jon Stewart on Iraq's "Successful" Elections

POSTED BY: Matt Tobey

Despite widespread violence and multiple assassinations, the recent elections in Iraq are being hailed by some as not only a success, but a vindication for President Bush. It's kind of like that time the handle fell off your coffee cup, so you went to the hardware store to get glue, but instead of the hardware store, you crashed your car through the front window of an Applebee's and insisted the cooks make you an Awesome Blossom. They don't serve Awesome Blossoms at Applebee's, but damn if you didn't force them to figure it out, and for that you deserve a hearty congratulations.

Jon Stewart on Megyn Kelly and Sarah Palin

POSTED BY: Matt Tobey

According to Fox News, they air actual objective news programming from 9am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm, but as Jon Stewart pointed out on last night's Daily Show, that simply doesn't appear to be the case. Of course there's a reasonable explanation for this. Those time-slots were taken out of context. Fox does indeed show pure unbiased fact-based news from 9am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. And they do it every other February 29.

Below, Jon praises the stand-up comedy debut of Sarah Palin.

The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report Scientifically Proven to Be Popular with Lots and Lots of Scientists

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

According to a highly scientific study conducted by some guy who works at USA Today, we now have definitive proof that The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are the greatest places in the visible universe to watch scientists talking about sciencey-kinds of stuff

"Comedy Central is it, as far as science goes," says Caltech physicist Sean Carroll, who is scheduled for a Colbert Report visit in March to promote his book, From Eternity to Here: The Quest for the Ultimate Theory of Time. "I give tremendous credit to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report for understanding that science is fascinating and fun, not off-putting and work."

Take, for example, this clip from Monday night's show, in which Jon chats with celebrated astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson…

Take, also for example, all these other clips of these greatest minds of our generation being polite while while Jon and Stephen make fart jokes and such and such…

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report air Monday through Thursday starting at 11pm / 10c.
